Beauty tip - Help for dry, chapped lips
Let’s face it, chapped lips are not pretty. Changes in season, weather and humidity are the most common causes of dry, chapped lips. If you’ve recently had a cold or flu, that can also do your lips in. This is an easy fix. Lip balm, lip balm, lip balm. Did I mention lip balm?
Exfoliating is a good idea to do during this time of year once or twice a week.
- Gently rub a warm, damp washcloth over lips to remove dry flakes and follow with (you guessed it) lip balm.
- A soft bristle toothbrush works well to exfoliate. You may want to use one that you don’t brush your teeth with. Apply a thick layer of honey to your lips and gently brush. Your lips will thank you and will look smooth and soft.
Wear a moisturizing lipgloss or lipstick during the day, preferably one with a natural sunscreen. I know if I go one day without something on my lips during the fall and winter months they get very dry. If you don’t like color on your lips, wear a lip balm with hydrating ingredients like aloe vera and shea butter. Perfect Organics make very effective ones that smell great. And always apply before going to sleep.
To your heath and beauty!
