What I’ve Been Reading Lately
Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry by Stacy Malkan
Malkan exposes the link between chemicals in cosmetics and breast cancer and infertility. The activists in her stories are most inspiring.

Easy, doable ways to begin to live a more eco-conscious and healthy life. Great product recommendations.
Toxic Beauty by Samuel Epstein, MD
The history of the cosmetic industry, their power, greed and unregulation is told in an interesting way. Ingredients to stay away from and those to use.
I Feel Bad about my Neck and other thoughts about being a woman by Nora Ephron
Funny, honest stories about women of a certain age. I was reading it on a plane and couldn’t stop laughing out loud.
Living Beauty by Bobbi Brown
A guide for women over 40 - what works to make us look and feel better. Worth it for the photos alone.
The Green Beauty Guide by Julie Gabriel
Lots of DIY recipes, information about toxic cosmetic ingredients and recommendations for alternatives.
Hot House Flower and the Nine Plants of Desire by Margot Berwin
This is the one novel I’m recommending. Sex in the City meets Eat, Pray, Love. Romance, adventure and spiritual discovery. Loved it.
Enjoy!!
